3rd-4th   Sloane Official Opening.  FREE ADMISSION on both Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 until 4:00!

24th-25th Ironworks Weekend.  Immerse yourself in Ironworks Weekend, an exciting program exploring the history of ironmaking in the Housatonic Valley at the Kent Iron Works site. Enjoy free admission to the museum and programs Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 until 4:00.

June

7th Historic Trades Day/EAIA Collaboration.  Join us on June 8th to enjoy FREE ADMISSION as historic trades are demonstrated throughout the day. Experience the antique tool sale.

21st Broom Making Workshop.  Join us as we explore broom making techniques and methods through a hands-on workshop at the Eric Sloane Museum with broom maker Alan Curboy.

July

5th  Bell Ringing.  Join us as we ring in the 4th of July at the Eric Sloane Museum.

12th TradesUp Youth Plumbing Workshop.  Experience S.T.E.A.M-based learning through this hands-on workshop. Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math! Ages 10-17. Free.

19th Blacksmithing Workshop.  Join us as we explore blacksmithing techniques and methods through a hands-on workshop at the Eric Sloane Museum. Pre-Registration is required.

August

9th Spoon Carving Workshop.  Join us as we explore hand carving techniques and methods through a hands-on workshop at the Eric Sloane Museum, taught by woodworking expert, Rick Liegl. Pre-Registration is required.

16th TradesUp Youth Electrical Workshop.  Experience S.T.E.A.M-based learning through this hands-on workshop. Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math! Ages 10-17. Free.  Space is limited, so register today

4th Hewing Class. Join us as we explore hand-hewing techniques and methods through a hands-on workshop at the Eric Sloane Museum., taught by preservation carpenter, Nevan Carling. Pre-Registration is required.

25th Trades Up- Spark KENT. This free event is designed to offer youth and adults alike the opportunity to safely participate in trades, crafts and self-sufficiency skills through hands on activities and demonstrations Admission is free!

A Special Event: An Evening at the Eric Sloane Museum

Please join us for a one-of-a-kind experience of a special, private after-hours tour of the museum collection and art gallery.  Enjoy a glass of wine or craft beer, as well as some Hors D’ Oeuvres, as we explore some of the museum’s hidden gems in a fun and relaxed way.  Enjoy a deeper look at the art collection with renowned author, historian, and art specialist Wil Mauch, as well as a behind-the-scenes look at the museum collection with Museum Curator Andrew Rowand.  There will be time for socializing, questions, and personal exploration of what makes the museum so special.  Proceeds benefit the Friends of the Eric Sloane Museum and their mission to preserve the legacy of Eric Sloane and the museum he founded. Tickets are limited, so be sure to register today.
